poultICE contains word ICE.Ice in itself is a soothing substance which when applied on inflammation alleviates the pain.So poultice is applying ice on inflammation.
think of this sentence when u see the word POULTICE.....Man i sure would prefer a POULTICE rather than someone POUR-ICE on my body.....poultice is a soothing application.....ICE on the other hand is the opposite...
